Mark Chilson Retiring from SFB After 34-Year Career

Mark Oldenberg, president and CEO of Security Financial Bank (SFB), announces the upcoming retirement of Mark Chilson on April 3, 2026, with sincere appreciation for his exceptional 34-year career with SFB and a total banking career of 40 years.

Chilson joined SFB in 1991 and has served the Durand community in a variety of roles, including agricultural relationship manager, Durand market president, and senior insurance relationship manager.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a degree in farm management and agricultural business, Chilson also dedicated 27 years of service to the Army National Guard and Army Reserve, including a tour in Iraq.

"Through his dedication to the Durand community and beyond, Mark has made a lasting impact on our customers, communities, and teammates," said Oldenberg.

Reflecting on his career, Chilson shared his appreciation for the many relationships he has built over the years. "Banking is a people business," he said. "Working with great coworkers and serving clients I care about made coming to work every day worthwhile."

Chilson serves on the Finance Council for Holy Rosary Parish and the Pepin County Dairy Promotion Committee. In retirement, he is looking forward to his next adventure that will keep him active and engaged in the community as well as enjoying more time with family and on his farm. Jody Ausen, SFB insurance relationship manager, will assume responsibility for Chilson's client relationships, ensuring a seamless transition and continued commitment to the high level of service clients have come to expect.
