Friends of BRF Public Library Honors Security Financial Bank at its Annual Meeting

The Friends of the Black River Falls Public Library presented Security Financial Bank (SFB) with the 2024 Friend of the Friends award to show appreciation for the financial institution's commitment to financial and volunteer support of the nonprofit organization and Black River Falls Public Library.

SFB received the 2024 Friend of the Friends Award at the Friends of the BRF Public Library's Annual Meeting held Monday, Oct. 21. The award honors local businesses, organizations and individuals whose support of the Friends goes above and beyond to assist the library and, by extension, the community at large.

"We are so appreciative of strong community businesses and groups who help support the Friends' mission to enrich the library," shared Joan Zenz, Friends group chairperson. "We extend our deep gratitude to SFB for the past and continued partnership."

SFB has supported the Friends in several ways, including a donation, helping sell Project Christmas books, and staff volunteering to help with outdoor cleanup at the library to prepare it for the fall and winter seasons.

"Part of Security Financial Bank's core values and mission is to perform acts of community service. We believe this outreach allows us to further serve the city of Black River Falls and the surrounding areas. Libraries also provide many materials and programs as a means of meeting the needs of the public, and so we are happy to provide our support," said Brad Sirianni, a relationship manager with Security Financial Bank. "Those of us at SFB are pleased to accept this award and look forward to continuing to support the Black River Falls Public Library and the Friends group as well."

The Friends, a nonprofit organization, is a group of volunteer members who raise money to support library programs and services and help coordinate special events and programs. The group, founded officially in 2015, serves as an ambassador for the library and its mission with patrons and the community.
