Danny Pohnl Appointed Eau Claire Market President

Mark Oldenberg, president and CEO of Security Financial Bank (SFB), is pleased to announce that Danny Pohnl has been appointed market president for SFB's Eau Claire market.

Pohnl joined SFB in 2024 and has made a positive impact on the Eau Claire market through his commercial banking leadership. Following Curt Van Auken's retirement at the end of 2025, Pohnl will step into the market president role.

With more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry, Pohnl brings deep expertise to advising a wide range of banking clients. Over the past year and a half with SFB, he has enjoyed getting to know both clients and employees. Pohnl believes SFB has a bright future in Eau Claire and looks forward to continuing to support the growth of our customers and the community.

"Curt has been a remarkable leader in our community and at our bank for many years. His leadership, authenticity, and generosity with his time to help mentor colleagues and customers alike will be greatly missed," Pohnl said. "With the foundation soundly laid, we are positioned extremely well headed into the future, and I couldn't be more excited about that."

Pohnl received a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he also received a Certificate of Executive Leadership.

"Danny has demonstrated a deep insight into the needs of business owners in the Chippewa Valley," Oldenberg said. "We are confident his leadership will further strengthen SFB's relationships and support our continued focus on delivering personalized financial solutions."

Danny serves on the Board of Directors of the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic and the Chippewa Valley Bankers Association. He fills his free time coaching his children in Altoona athletics, golfing, and spending time with his wife and three children.
