Lender Spotlight with Curt Van Auken

An integral part of Security Financial Bank (SFB) for over 10 years, Curt Van Auken serves as the Eau Claire market president and a commercial relationship manager. Van Auken is very knowledgeable about the banking industry and has more than 45 years of experience assisting clients. A majority of his career has been in Northwestern Wisconsin building relationships with area business owners and community members. 

Van Auken truly lives the SFB slogan "Bankers Who Believe in You." In whatever Van Auken is working on, he always puts the client first.

"It is important to see the face behind the business and form a relationship with your clients," Van Auken said. 

His clients appreciate the friendly face and light repartee that comes with a phone call or visit from Van Auken. 

Even with decades of banking experience, there is still more to learn for Van Auken in the financing field. More recently, he has been a prominent member of the SFB Insurance Agency Lending Team with strengths in acquisitions, buyouts, and refinancing projects. 

"I have enjoyed the challenge of independent insurance agency financing and the wealth of knowledge out there to learn," Van Auken said.

Through the continued innovation of the Chippewa Valley, the region offers almost everything you could want. However, Van Auken, an Illinois native, mentioned there is still one store he is waiting for Eau Claire to add. 

"I would love to see a Portillo's built in the area soon," Van Auken joked. 

Van Auken is actively involved in the community serving on the Fall Creek Plan Commission and the Chippewa Valley Museum Board of Directors. In his free time, Van Auken enjoys spending time with his family and attends his grandkids' sporting events.
