Crop Insurance Dates for the Second Half of 2026

With the spring crop sales closing date behind us, now is an ideal time to look ahead at the remaining crop insurance deadlines and coverage dates for 2026. Jody Ausen, SFB insurance relationship manager, is able to help with these products and dates, and other crop insurance products we offer.

July 15, 2026 – Final acreage reporting date for all spring-planted crops with multi-peril insurance coverage. Please see your FSA office first to report these crops. Then, bring your FSA 578s and colored field maps to our office or have the FSA office email the documents to Jody at jausen@sfbank.com.

July 31, 2026 – Sales closing date and cancellation date for fall-seeded forage seeding policies.

August 15, 2026 – Multi-peril crop insurance billing date.

September 30, 2026 – Sales closing date and cancellation date for forage production policies for 2026.

October 1, 2026 – Crop hail insurance billing date.

October 15 or November 1, 2026 – Wind coverage expires on field corn, depending on your specific policy.

December 10, 2026 – Multi-peril coverage expires on spring crops on this date or the date those crops are harvested, whichever date is earlier.

December 15, 2026 – Hail coverage expires on corn and soybeans.
