Protect Yourself from Today's Scams

Learn how to recognize the latest scams, prevent fraud, and safeguard your finances.

Scammers are becoming more sophisticated every day, targeting individuals through phone calls, text messages, emails, social media, and other methods. To help community members stay informed and protected, Security Financial Bank (SFB) is offering a series of free fraud-prevention seminars throughout October.

This free, one-hour seminar will provide practical information to help you recognize today's most common scams, identify warning signs, and take steps to protect yourself, your finances, and your loved ones. Whether you're looking to safeguard your own information or help protect a family member, you'll leave with valuable tips you can put into practice immediately.

What You'll Learn:

  • The latest phone, text, email, and social media scams
  • How criminals attempt to steal personal and banking information
  • Warning signs that should raise immediate concern
  • Simple steps to protect your accounts and identity
  • What to do if you believe you've been targeted by a scam
  • Resources available to help prevent fraud and identity theft

Meet the Presenters

The seminars will be led by Tammy Sinz and Jen Truhlar of Security Financial Bank, who work every day to help protect customers from fraud and financial crimes.

Tammy Sinz, director of retail banking, oversees SFB's personal bankers, universal bankers, tellers, and Call Center team. Jen Truhlar serves as the bank's BSA officer and is responsible for helping protect the bank and its customers from fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes. Together, they bring firsthand knowledge of the latest scams affecting our communities and practical guidance on how to recognize and avoid them.
