What types of checks can I deposit via the Mobile Deposit service?
Generally, all consumer and business checks that are payable to you may be deposited through Mobile Deposit. A list of ‘ineligible’ items is included in ‘Mobile Banking Agreement and Disclosure’, which is available here on our website.
Are there any fees associated with using Mobile Deposit?
We do not charge a fee to use our Mobile Deposit service, however, Security Financial Bank is not responsible for any fees incurred by your wireless carrier.
How many checks can be deposited each day and are there dollar amount limits?
Your deposit limits will be discussed with you when you apply for Mobile Deposit.
When are Mobile Deposits processed?
Mobile Deposits are only processed on business days, not weekends or holidays. Mobile Deposit funds will be available on the business day following your deposit, if the deposit is made by 4:45 p.m.
How should I endorse the back of my check?
All checks must be endorsed with the required endorsement of ‘for mobile deposit only’, followed by your signature(s) or endorsement stamp.
How long should I retain my check after I deposit it via Mobile Deposit?
After receiving your deposit confirmation, we ask you to securely retain your check for at least 45 calendar days from the date you deposited it.
Following that, please destroy your check by marking it ‘VOID’ or rendering it incapable of further transmission, deposit, or presentment.
What if I encounter an error when attempting a Mobile Deposit?
There could be times when the system is unable to read the account data on the bottom edge of a check. If this occurs, it will provide you with messages on the screen of your mobile device, about how to position your check and retake the photo.
What happens if I accidentally deposit my check twice?
The system will not allow you to deposit the same check twice. An error will appear stating ‘This check has already been submitted. We cannot accept it again.’
What should I do if the ‘Check Front’ screen is black when I attempt take a photo of my check?
Go to your mobile device settings through the SFB Mobile app and select ‘Allow SFB Mobile to access’ the use of the ‘Camera’ and ‘Use Cellular Data’. (Please note that the settings on each mobile device might vary.)
I signed up for Mobile Deposit, why isn’t the ‘Deposits’ tab appearing on my mobile device?
All customers mustdownload the latest version of our Mobile Banking app from their Apple or Google Play store. Once the Mobile Deposit feature has been added for you, the ‘Deposits’ tab will appear.
