Important Crop Dates to Keep in Mind for 2023

Now that the March 15 sales closing date has passed for multi-peril crop insurance in 2023, it is time to look at the summer insurance dates ahead.

July 15, 2023 - Final Acreage Reporting date for all spring planted crops with multi-peril insurance coverage.  Please see your FSA office first to report these crops.  Afterwards bring in your FSA 578 and colored field maps to an SFB office or ask the FSA office to email the papers to mchilson@sfbank.com.

July 31, 2023 - Sales closing date for fall seeded forage seeding policies.

August 15, 2023 - Cash discount deadline for crop hail policies.

August 15, 2023 - Multi peril crop insurance billing date.

October 1, 2023 - Premium due on crop hail policies, if not paid for by cash discount deadline.

October 15 or November 1, 2023 - Wind coverage expires on field corn depending on your specific policy.

December 10, 2023 - Multi-peril coverage expires on spring crops on this date or the date those crops or harvested, whichever date is earlier.

December 15, 2023 - Hail coverage expires on corn and soybeans.

Reminders:

1. Claims are due within 72 hours of suspected damage. Call Mark Chilson at 715.672.2422 if you suspect any damage.

2. Call Mark for a corn crop appraisal if you plan to chop corn silage or harvest corn for hi-moisture a few days prior to those activities.
